About Me

My photo
High Lonesome
I live on a mountain farm with my husband, Jim. I am currently an empty nester, but I stayed at home and homeschooled my 3 children from birth until they graduated from our school. We built our home and barn without any outside help. In fact, we built our home without electricity! The website about those years is www.highlonesomeranch.com I am frugal and like to see how far a recipe can be stretched. I am writing a frugal cookbook and a book on our first year on High Lonesome as homesteaders with 3 young children. ! We still homestead, to a certain extent. We always try to be as self-sufficient as we can. I raise my own livestock, and especially birds. I raise chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese and emu. My husband raises quail. We try to incubate as many eggs a year as possible. I enjoy life here with Jim!
